Training for Food Stamps Telephone Recertification Pilot Now Available
Training materials for the Food Stamps Telephone Recertification Pilot are now available on TrainingSpace. The materials include a printable guide to manipulating a Cognos report, and a series of animations demonstrating many of the topics addressed in the downloadable guide. STARS registration is not required before using the materials. Each user will be required to fill out a short registration form before accessing the materials.
The materials are appropriate for district supervisors, caseworkers, and other staff members tasked with tracking the date information for the recertification of recipient’s food stamps via telephone.
As part of the Food Stamps Telephone Recertification pilot initiated by the NYS OTDA’s Food Stamps Bureau, monthly food stamps telephone recertification data is available for downloading to your computer via Cognos software. You can then manipulate the telephone recertification data using a spreadsheet application, Microsoft Excel, to easily review the report and enter new data. The Cognos report is designed as a Management/Worker task report to track the workflow for your district food stamps recertification process. It allows district workers and supervisors to account for all received applications electronically. This will ensure that all applicants receive either a completed interview no later than the CNS printed interview date or, in the absence of a completed interview, a missed interview notice (Z99) sent immediately following that date.
