New Course Released: Food Stamps - Earned and Unearned Income

Earned Unearned INcome screen shotThe New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) is now offering a new web-based course designed to train learners on the policies, procedures, and best practices of budgeting the earned and unearned income of food stamps recipients. Food Stamps: Earned and Unearned Income identifies the different types of income sources that a recipient may report, and explores how this income affects overall eligibility.

Food Stamps: Earned and Unearned Income outlines how income sources are handled for Food Stamp (NTA/FS) and Temporary Assistance/Food Stamp (TA/FS) cases, examines several of the most common errors, reviews various income limit tests, and demonstrates how to enter budget information in WMS ABEL. Interactive examples and realistic scenarios are used to illustrate the concepts taught in this course.
