Closed Captions
Closed captioning allows people who are deaf or hard of hearing, learning a new language, in a noisy environment, or otherwise disadvantaged to read a transcript of the audio portion of a video or presentation. As the video plays, text captions are displayed that transcribe speech and other relevant sounds.
To
turn captions on in Windows Media Player, press the Shift, Control,
and C buttons simultaneously.
Captions can also be turned on via the “Lyrics, Captions,
and Subtitles” option in the video player's "Play" menu.
If the Play menu is not initially visible you may need to press Control-M
to turn the menus on.
The play menu is also accessable by clicking with the right mouse
button anywhere on the Media Player menu bar. From the context
menu that appears, select “Play,” then “Lyrics,
Captions, and Subtitles.”
