Module 1: Overview of NYS CSE Program

Support Collection: Income Execution

Over 70% of non-custodial parent's (NCP)s pay their child support through a process called Income Execution, also known as wage withholding. After being served with an Income Execution notice, the non-custodial parent's employer deducts payments from the NCP's wages and sends the money to the Support Collection Unit (SCU) to ensure compliance with the support order.

Unemployed NCPs are still required to make their court ordered child support payments, unless and until the court modifies their order. Also, unemployed NCP's are required to make good effort in finding other employment.
