Support Establishment: The Law and the Child Support Standards Act (CSSA)

Family Court determines the amount of support based on the Child Support Standards Act or CSSA guidelines. In most cases, the non-custodial parent must provide child support that includes:

• Payment of cash child support
• Medical Support (health insurance)
• Money for child care
• Money for reasonable health care costs not covered by health insurance
