Trauma Informed Care for Children and Adolescents

Program Description

This TrainingSpace course is a recording of a teleconference previously broadcast on 3/31/09. This program, sponsored by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), is intended to reach clinicians, outpatient, hospital, residential, and juvenile justice staff serving children and adolescents who have experienced trauma in their lives. For many youth, trauma is a precursor to placement with OCFS and a primary reason they are seen in community, hospital inpatient, residential and juvenile justice settings.

This broadcast will feature information related to trauma-informed therapy and manifestations of trauma as seen in various settings in local communities, such as hospitals, private practices, juvenile justice settings, etc. Strategies to assess trauma and successful models of treatment will be discussed.

Please note: The primary target audience for this teleconference is clinicians.
