An Overview of Child Welfare Programs for Temporary Assistance Staff
Program Description
This teleconference provides TA eligibility workers, especially those who focus on child-only cases, a foundation for a more comprehensive understanding of the child welfare system. This includes an overview of the child welfare mission, five outcomes of child welfare practice, the reasons and the way a child may come into a relative's care, the services provided by child welfare, and how all systems can work together to support families and ensure the best interest of the child. Innovative programs operating in two local districts are presented.
