ADA 101 For Local Districts
Program Description
The ADA 101 For Local Districts teleconference was originally held on May 23, 2007. The teleconference provides local social services districts with information that reiterates existing requirements for providing access to persons with disabilities as discussed in 06-ADM-05.
Viewers of this recorded teleconference will learn:
- What is covered under the ADA and what is not.
- What OTDA's responsibilities are.
- What responsibilities social services districts have to serve persons with physical and mental disabilities under the ADA, including how districts can provide access for persons with disabilities, and examples of reasonable accommodation for various disabilities.
- Best practices that minimize complaints and potential violations of the ADA, while enabling social services districts to flexibly and effectively serve persons with disabilities.
