Case Management and Legal Liability for the PSA Worker
October 2011
Program Description
This training focuses on the complexity of providing case management services to vulnerable populations in today's litigious society, with the goal of educating local district attorneys, caseworkers, supervisors, and directors of service on ways to manage the potential liability and risks that may arise in the course of working with clients. Expert presenters Debra Sacks and OCFS Bureau of Adult Services Director Alan Lawitz will discuss legal principles and theories of liability, as well as capacity issues and the personal injury case and risk management techniques you can use to ensure safe professional practice. Selected PSA case work liability issues such as documentation, referrals, accessing clients and confidentiality will also be discussed and presenters will participate in a live question and answer segment with participants.
