Sex Offender Housing Map (CIRIS) Training

Course Description
With the recent release of 10 ADM-07 Provision of Temporary Housing Assistance to Sex Offenders, the OTDA Temporary Assistance Policy Bureau and the Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination (CSCIC) have collaborated to assist Local District Social Services (LDSS) in locating appropriate housing for recently released sex offenders. The Critical Infrastructure Response Information System (CIRIS) provides information needed by the local district to determine if placement is suitable based on the prescribed policy.
Registration in STARS is required for completion of this tutorial training.
The Sex Offender Housing Map Manual, the Script for the Sex Offender Housing Map training, the 10-ADM-07 and the Sex Offender Housing Map Desk Guide resources are available as part of this tutorial training.
Objectives
This training will demonstrate how to create a default map specific to a county, conduct a search based on a selected geographic area and interpret the data provided based on the search.
Target Audience
- Temporary Assistance Staff
- Alternate or not-for-profit agencies responsible for placements
Prerequisites
- Knowledge of LDSS Procedures for placing homeless persons
