Course Description
The NYC Food Stamps – Household Composition web-based course provides learners with a detailed explanation of the concept of Household Composition and the related policies and rules that affect Food Stamps eligibility.
The suite of New York City Food Stamps trainings is designed to increase learner competency in understanding the Food Stamps Budget process and all of its component parts. Workers will be able to apply knowledge and skills gained to increase their efficiency and reduce the number of preventable errors.
Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Understand the primary rule of household composition.
- Identify the instances that require certain household members to be included in the food stamp household.
- List the rules pertaining to boarders and lodgers.
- Identify the separate rules for special living arrangements such as foster care and elderly individuals.
- Identify the various criteria that make a household or individual ineligible for food stamps.
- State the impact of various changes in a household's composition.
Target Audience
This course is intended for New York City Food Stamps Specialists, who work exclusively with Food Stamps caseloads.
