This training is designed to help OTDA employees recognize and react effectively to various emergencies that can occur in the workplace. Trainees learn about evacuation procedures, emergency reporting, and emergency first responses and how they apply in their respective workplace. A course feature allows trainees to select their office location and then view site specific information about their building, including a list of Tenant Safety Officers.
Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Know what to do in the event of an emergency in the workplace
- Use recommended actions to increase his or her safety and the safety of co-workers
- Know how to report a fire or other emergency situation
- Understand how an emergency will be communicated
- Understand the type of evacuation that may be required
- Know how to request assistance if needed
- Know what routes to use during a building evacuation
- Follow procedures to account for all staff
