Food Stamps - Income Exclusions
Course Description
Food Stamps: Income Exclusions explores the sources and amount of income that is disregarded when determining eligibility and calculating budget amounts. Throughout the course, numerous different sources of income are explored, including educational income, reimbursement income, and income excluded specifically by law.
The course also addresses how to enter excluded income into WMS ABEL and provides practice with realistic case studies.
Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Become familiar with income exclusions
- Learn how to correctly differentiate between countable and excludable income sources
- Understand how to treat reimbursements and educational income
- Recognize appropriate income exclusions mandated by law
- Properly enter income exclusions in WMS ABEL
